Alberoni
Alberoni is a beautiful seaside resort situated at the South end of Lido’s island,
and although
is approximately 30 minutes away from Venice historical centre,
its atmosphere is magical and out of times.
The flourishing nature, the windy climate, the clear sky and the intense
light,
the wide
and quite beach make Alberoni’s resort one of the most favorite destinations
not only
for travelers searching for different and suggestive locations away from
the noise
and the crowd typical of many tourist resorts, but also for the Venetian people
that
come
here all year
round for a beautiful walk or a dinner in one of Alberoni’s
characteristic restaurants.
At Alberoni everything can be reached easily just walking: the beach,
with its soft
and very
thin sand, the naturalistic oasis protected by the WWF, the golf pit,
one of the most beautiful
of Europe, the long outer dyke made with Istria’s stone,
which stretch for more than
12 Km down the Adriatic Sea.
There is the lovely and colorful little square on the lagoon, one of the few places
in Venice
from where you can admire an amazing sunset while sipping
your favorite drink.
And there are also typical restaurants and pizzerias.
All this within one kilometer.
Wherever you look you’ll be amazed by the rich vegetation of tamarisks,
cluster-pines, oleanders, and by the many different birds: turtledoves, blackbirds,
magpies, seagulls,
swallows that fly among the high poplars trees (big trees is precisely
the meaning
of “alberoni”, to which the sailors referred to when entering the harbour),
spreading
a
sense
of freedom
and wellbeing that fills this peaceful
place
on the borderline
between sea and lagoon.
